Avalanche Awareness: Talk & Beacon Practice

Dreaming of snow? Come refresh your skills with The Friends of the Avalanche Center & Inclusive Outdoors Project Bozeman during a one-hour avalanche awareness talk and one-hour beacon practice at the Bozeman Beacon Park in Story Mill Community Center Park. Topics for this presentation include: avalanche terrain recognition, the effect weather has on avalanche hazard, the development of mountain snowpack, decision-making skills and basic search and rescue procedures. If you have your own transceiver, please bring it; some gear will be available to borrow. This class will be at Story Mill Community Center (600 Bridger Drive).
